Bulldogs win 4th, 5th straight

Mississippi Gulf Coast ran its softball win streak to five by sweeping a Sunday doubleheader at Mississippi Delta. The Bulldogs won the opener 11-1 and the second game 8-2 in Moorhead.

Jett Harrell (Fr., Clarksdale/Lee Academy) threw her third straight complete game to move to 6-2. She struck out eight and allowed five singles and two walks. Batting leadoff, she also had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBI.

K.K. Agner (So., Horn Lake/Magnolia Heights), Kate Brannan (So., Enterprise/Enterprise), Madisyn Cobbs (So., Oxford/Lafayette) and Kamryn LaFosse (Fr., Lake Charles, La./Sam Houston) each doubled and had two hits. Laurel Ladner (So., Long Beach/Long Beach) had two hits.

Brannan doubled and tripled in the second game, finishing with three hits. Breanna Green (So., Saraland Ala./Saraland) had two hits, including a triple.

Kylie Burnette (Fr., Picayune/Picayune) and Kennedy Brown (So., Southaven/Northpoint Christian) combined for a three-hitter. They struck out five without issuing a walk.

Gulf Coast (12-6) is back at home Tuesday when Coastal Alabama-South visits Ross-Smith Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
