Region 23 start pushed to Wednesday

ELLISVILLE — Mississippi Gulf Coast will have to wait an extra day before getting started in the NJCAA Region 23 Softball Tournament after rain put a stop to the proceedings Tuesday.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to start play at 11:30 a.m. when they'll take on East Central. That will be after the conclusion of the Holmes-Itawamba game which was stopped by rain and lighting with Holmes up 2-1 after four innings.

The winner of the Gulf Coast-East Central game would have to play in the final game of the day. It's not scheduled to start until 9:30 p.m.

Single-day passes for the tournament, which concludes Sunday, cost $10, or a six-day tournament pass costs $50. It will be cash-only at the gate, or you can purchase using a credit card online at http://jcbobcats.com/tickets. All games will be streamed at http://jcjc.tv.
