Bulldogs will celebrate new playing field Friday

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will try to extend a seven-game softball win streak on Friday when Baton Rouge visits Ross-Smith Field. The Bulldogs will also be celebrating their new FieldTurf artificial playing surface.

First pitch is set for 2 p.m. The games will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.

School President Dr. Mary S. Graham will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before Game 1 to commemorate the field.

Previous Meeting

On Jan. 31, Gulf Coast split a doubleheader at Baton Rouge, winning the first 11-2 before falling 7-6. (The second game was later declared a forfeit by the NJCAA.)

She leads the MACCC in hits (31), is second in doubles (7), fourth in home runs (6), second in RBI (27). Agner is third in batting (534) and on-base percentage (.600) and eighth in slugging (.966).
• Jett Harrell (Fr., Clarksdale/Lee Academy) is seventh in the NJCAA with six wins and fifth in complete games (5). At the plate, she's third in the MACCC in doubles (6), sixth in home runs (5) and ninth in RBI (18).
