PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast lost a pair of games to No. 7 Copiah-Lincoln in MACCC softball action Wednesday.
The Bulldogs lost the first game 9-1 and the second 10-2 in five innings.
Jett Harrell (Fr., Clarksdale/Lee Academy) doubled in the bottom of the first inning of the first game and scored on a fielder's choice on a ball put in play by Jorja Roberson (Fr., Branyan/East Union).
Roberson had a double of her own in the third. The Bulldogs managed only three hits.
In the nightcap, Kamryn LaFosse (Fr., Lake Charles, La./Sam Houston) had an RBI groundout in the first to score Roberson, who had one of three hits for Gulf Coast.
The Bulldogs board a bus early Thursday morning to drive to Fulton for a rescheduled doubleheader against No. 14 Itawamba. The two-game set, which was moved up a day because of expected bad weather, will start at 3 p.m. It will be streamed at https://letsgoicctv.com/red/.
