No. 22 Mississippi Gulf Coast took its first loss of the season Friday in the Bulldogs' final game at the Pearl River Classic.
Gulf Coast lost 58-46 to Mineral Area to fall to 4-1.
Dekyra Mitchell (Fr., Durant/Holmes County) led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Katelyn Brinkley (Fr., Ridgeland/Ridgeland) had 11, and Jacylin Houston (So., Louisville/Louisville) had 10.
Gulf Coast trailed 28-24 at halftime but scored only five points in the third quarter to fall in a big hole.
The Bulldogs entertain Pensacola State on Monday at Dantzler Arena. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. Buy your tickets ahead of time to save money.
