A cold start to the final quarter kept Mississippi Gulf Coast from moving up into third place in the MACCC, with Itawamba surging past the Bulldogs 65-57.
Dekyra Mitchell (Fr., Durant/Holmes County) led Gulf Coast with 19 points. Katelyn Brinkley (Fr., Ridgeland/Ridgeland) had 13.
The Bulldogs led 44-39 after three quarters, but ICC scored the next 15 points. Gulf Coast didn't get its first point until 3:16 left in the game.
MGCCC (12-10, 6-4 MACCC) flipped a 15-11 deficit after the first quarter into a five-point advantage at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't hold on down the stretch.
The Bulldogs will be back at Perk on Monday when Meridian visits. Tipoff at Dantzler Arena will be at 5:30 p.m.
