Bulldogs lose in OT at Senatobia

Mississippi Gulf Coast got huge nights off the bench by Lamarah Cleaves and Kristen McMillan, but the Bulldogs went cold in overtime Monday and lost 77-68 at Northwest Mississippi.

Cleaves (Fr., Tupelo/Tupelo) had 19 points and McMillan (So., Hoover, Ala./Hoover) added 14 and had 11 rebounds.

Gulf Coast falls to 13-11 overall, 7-5 MACCC.

Cleaves made 4 of 7 from behind the arc to give the Bulldogs a big lift. They led by as many as four in the third quarter, but the game seesawed in the fourth. Cleaves hit a layup with 3:12 left to put Gulf Coast up 63-60, and the Bulldogs were up by the same margin with a pair of free throws by Dekyra Mitchell with 50 seconds left.

Gulf Coast made only half its 12 free throws in the fourth quarter to let the Rangers (10-13, 6-7) back in it. They tied it at 66 with a shot in the lane with 31 seconds left, and neither team could break it before OT.

Taelar Felton (Fr., Clinton/Clinton) had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Gulf Coast will celebrate Sophomore Night on Thursday at Dantzler Arena. Tipoff against Southwest Mississippi is set for 5:30 p.m.
