Gulf Coast entertains No. 18 Chipola in Bulldog Invitational

PERKINSTON — The Mississippi Gulf Coast women's basketball team will have a chance to make the country take notice this week during the Bulldog Invitational.

The two-day event at Dantzler Arena includes No. 18 Chipola, who the Bulldogs will face Thursday at 6 p.m.

Meridian will play Bishop State in the opening game at 4 p.m. Meridian plays Chipola at 2 p.m. Friday, with Gulf Coast taking on Bishop State in the second game.

Chipola (3-0) knocked off then-No. 10 Shelton State earlier this season to move into the Top 25. Guard/forward Jasmine Jones leads Chipola averaging 26.3 points per game.

The Bulldogs (2-0) are riding high after knocking off the seven-time defending Region 23 champion Jones Bobcats by 33 points last week.
