Bulldogs lose at No. 8 Pensacola State

Mississippi Gulf Coast was looking to pull a Top-10 road upset Tuesday, but a cold-shooting second half saw the Bulldogs fall 74-52 at No. 8 Pensacola State.

Simaru Fields (So., Pass Christian/Gulfport) led Gulf Coast with 20 points, the only Bulldog in double digits.

Gulf Coast trailed by two after the first quarter and only 33-31 at halftime, but the Pirates (8-0) were able to pull away after the break.

Gulf Coast falls to 4-2, with both losses to teams in the top 20 of the NJCAA Division I women's basketball rankings. The Bulldogs will return home Thursday to take on Tallahassee. Tipoff at Dantzler Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.
