Bulldogs lose at Booneville

Mississippi Gulf Coast lost a double-digit lead in the final three minutes to drop its first MACCC women's basketball game of the season, losing 57-54 at Northeast Mississippi.

Simaru Fields (So., Pass Christian/Gulfport) led the Bulldogs with 17 points in Booneville. Ja'Sharreah Hunt (So., Roxie/Franklin County) had 12 and Tytiana Buckley (So., Meridian/Meridian) added 11.

Gulf Coast (12-4, 5-1 MACCC) led 47-35 with three minutes to play, and the Bulldogs were up 51-45 with 40 seconds left but couldn't hold on.

Je'Mya Evans (So., Gulfport/Harrison Central) was the fourth Bulldog in double-figures with 10 points.

Gulf Coast is back at home Thursday when archrival Pearl River visits. Tipoff in Dantzler Arena is set for 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets, and the game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
