Bulldogs dominate All-MACCC Team

PERKINSTON — As you'd expect, the conference-champion Mississippi Gulf Coast women's basketball team dominated the All-MACCC Team announced Tuesday.

Four Bulldogs were named to the First Team: Simaru Fields, Tytiana Buckley, Je'Mya Evans and Ja'Sharreah Hunt. Jacylin Houston was named to the Honorable Mention list, and Hope Adams earned Co-Coach of the Year honors.

The group led the Bulldogs to a share of the MACCC title with a 13-1 record in conference play. They are 23-4 after winning the NJCAA Region 23 championship last week in Jackson and are preparing for the school's first trip to the national championship since 1977.

Gulf Coast will open play at the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship on Wednesday, March 27. Tipoff against Three Rivers will be at 1:15 p.m. CT.
