Bulldogs drop narrow defeat to No. 19 Chipola

Mississippi Gulf Coast mounted a second-half comeback which fell just short in Marianna, Fla., on Saturday in a 64-61 loss at No. 19 Chipola.

Ja'Sharreah Hunt (So., Roxie/Franklin County) led the Bulldogs with 20 points and four assists.

The Bulldogs (6-3) were down 36-23 at halftime but hot 3-point shooting got them back in it. They made 7 of 14 behind the arc.

Gulf Coast cut the deficit to five points headed into the final period, outscoring Chipola 23-15.

Chipola is now 16-2.

Tytiana Buckley (So., Meridian/Meridian) had 17 points and five rebounds, with Simaru Fields (So., Pass Christian/Gulfport) adding 12. Fields and Jacylin Houston (Fr., Louisville/Louisville) led Gulf Coast with six rebounds.
