Evans named MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Je'Mya Evans was a dominant double-double machine for Mississippi Gulf Coast, so much so she's been named MACCC Player of the Week.
She put up double-doubles in both Gulf Coast wins to help the Bulldogs stay atop the MACCC women's basketball standings. She had 29 points and 14 rebounds in a 78-47 win at East Mississippi
In a 71-40 win over Holmes, she put up 22 points and grabbed 10 boards.
The award is voted on by the conference's sports information directors. Evans is now eligible for the NJCAA weekly award, which will be announced Wednesday.
